Unlike a course, there’s no formal structure to how the learning in a topic is accessed, however you can use sub-topics and you can arrange your content and topics into any order you like.

You can set up as many Topics as you need.

An authoring tool is used to take your learning content and wrap it in a technology that allows it to be delivered through an LMS or learning management system. This used to be required for e-learning because the learning management systems (LMSs) couldn't handle anything but specially wrapped content using a standard known as SCORM.

Learn with Mobile accepts any kind of learning file and still gives you reports of content usage and course pass rates. So you can upload videos and presentations or any other format without worrying about authoring tools.

Of course if you want to continue using an authoring tool, or want to re-use content created with one, Learn with Mobile accepts that learning seamlessly too.

content uploading setup Moodle creating getting started
Yes you can. Learn with Mobile accepts any kind of learning file and still gives you reports of content usage and course pass rates. So you can upload videos and presentations as well as ineractive and SCORM wrapped learning assets. In fact you can use pretty much any format you can think of, and Learn with Mobile will handle it.

Because Learn with Mobile allows learning to be accessed almost anywhere, it may be worthwhile considering the opportunities offered by bite-sized learning or micro-learning, and splitting down your existing assets.

And if you're upgrading to Learn with Mobile from a Moodle platform, you can choose to upload a backup of your Moodle content straight into your new learning platform. Search for Moodle in our FAQs to find out how.

Yes you can. Learn with Mobile has a built-in article creator that allows you to quickly write and format your own content.

You can create your own design using columns and images - safe in the knowledge that Learn with Mobile will make sure that your article is fully responsive on whichever device your learner chooses to access it on.

You can author and format your own quizzes to test your learners' understanding of your course material, along with a whole host of other interactive learning types. You can even create and use video and audio material straight from your mobile phone or tablet.

And you can easily mix your created content with your other uploaded assets in your course modules or your learning topics.

If you’re using the Professional or Enterprise edition, when you add a Course or Topic you are presented with a choice. Here are the choices you’ll see:

  1. Shared – choose this if you want all your users to be able to access the content in the course or topic.
  2. Restricted – choose this to restrict access to the course or topic material to only those people you invite. All your learners will be able to see that there is a course or topic but they cannot access it until they have accepted an invitation.
  3. Private – choose this to hide material from everyone except invitees. Nobody will see that there is a course or topic unless they have been invited.
  4. Import from Moodle backup – this option allows you to easily switch to Learn with Mobile from any Moodle based learning system. You’ll need to get a backup from your current system in the format of a .mbz file.
In Trainer and Trainer Plus Editions you are creating learning to sell, so all these options are not available. You can set up a course to sell or import your content from a Moodle backup. You'll see this option when you create a new Course or Topic in your Learning Store.

using administrator users Trainer
Trainer Edition or Trainer Plus Editions only

Because the Trainer edition includes e-commerce, your learners will normally add themselves when they buy their first learning content. As soon as they make their payment they are registered.

You can also invite users to any Course or Topic using Manage access from the "cog" menu on the learning.

If you invite a user, this bypasses the usual payment process so they won't be charged anything by Learn with Mobile.

For all editions of Learn with Mobile, you must have administrator level access to add users.

using administrator users
Professional Edition only

There are 2 ways to add more users to your Learn with Mobile Professional edition:

You can invite a user to your entire learning platform by selecting the Users tab on the Administration view and entering their email address to invite them. Or you can invite a user to a restircted or private Course or Topic using the Manage Access option after selecting the "cog" menu on the Course or Topic. If your user is not already on your platform, they'll be automatically added when they accept the invitation to the learning you've invited them to so there's no need to add them separately.

If you don't see the cog menu, you are probably looking at a shared course or topic rather than restricted or private.

Remember, with the Professional edition you pay for your users in packs of 25. So if you go over your current block of 25 we'll automatically add another pack.

using administrator users
Enterprise Edition only

With the Enterprise edition, you have the ability to change the Access Security on your learning platform. If it is still set to Invite Only you can invite a user to your entire learning platform by selecting the Users tab on the Administration view and entering their email address to invite them.

There are several options you can change your Access Security to, so your platform may have self-registration where users apply and are granted access or you may have public access where anyone can see the learning. We may also have provided you with a bulk user upload facility.

If you are an Enterprise subscriber and you are uncertain about how to add users on your learning platform just check with us and we'll be happy to help.

For all editions of Learn with Mobile, you must have administrator level access to add users.

setup administration menu menus uploading creating
Because it allows special access to sensitive parts of your learning platform, the Administration menu item is only available if your user ID has the appropriate security setting.

Ask your Administrator to check for you. Your administrator can change your user setting in their Administration area by selecting Users and changing the permissions for your user to Administrator.

If you are an Administrator already but cannot see Administration on the menu, you may not be logged into your learning platform correctly. Log in using your email and password – you may have to select Sign Out so that you can log in correctly.

If you have more than one email address, you may be trying to access your Learn with Mobile with the wrong one.

using assignments interactive
The Tutor's Intray is your view into the results of your interactive learning. You must be an administrator to see the Tutor's Intray.

If your learning includes Assignments, you'll see Assignments waiting to be graded. You can also see completed assignments that have already been graded.

In the Interactive Learning tab, you can take a look at the answers each learner submitted to quizzes and other interactive types of learning.

using administrator sorting creating setup
As you load up your learning it is usually displayed in Alphabetical order. You may find things need moving into a different order from time to time. This can apply to courses, topics, or any kind of learning.

As an Administrator, you'll see a Reorder button in the top right of those screens where this is possible. Select Reorder and you can use the special icon in the top right of each tile to change the order by dragging and dropping the tile. If you get things completely out of order, you can always click on the linked text “put everything back into alphabetical order” in the help message to do just that.

Your learning platform will remember the order you've moved things into until you choose to reset them.

using administrator interactive content creating
When you select Add more Learning in a course or a Topic, you'll get to a list of all the different kinds of content you can upload, create, or link to.

Choose I want the learner to interact with … and then select … a Quiz to test knowledge.

You'll be able to format your quiz any way you need to with different types of question and whatever layout suits you.

Start by entering a title and changing the thumbnail, then decide how many questions your quiz will have. Create your introduction and decide whether you want a pass mark. And then you can build your questions using the built-in editor.

using administrator knowledge base contribution content creating uploading users
Generally speaking, only an administrator can add learning content to your Learn with Mobile. However there are two ways you can encourage your learners to contribute their own learning for others to participate in.

You can have learning wikis anywhere in your content. These are areas where experts can contribute and edit content themselves. A Wiki can appear anywhere in a topic or a course.

You can also set up a Knowledge Base. This appears as a function on your main menu and provides an area similar to your Learn area where Topics and Sub-topics can contain any type of learning. The difference is that learning can be contributed by anyone, not just an administrator. A knowledge base is a great area to build up and retain knowledge about procedures or specialist knowledge within your business. You may have switched the Knowledge Base function off when you set up Learn with Mobile. Use the Appearance tab in your Administration area to reselect that function.

If you have the Trainer or Trainer Plus editions, you won't see the knowledge base in your system. This is because these editions are geared to selling training rather than building internal learning resources.
